A harmony of flavours is to be remembered in this slow-cooked Kingston-inspired spicy, rich-coloured beef stew infused with our much-loved Pepperpot Mix.

Ingredients

1 Jar Pepperpot Mix

2 Cups (150ml) Water

900g Sirloin Beef Steak, cut into 2-inch chunks

4 tbsp Oil

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

To Serve

Green Onion  for Garnish

Lime Wedge for Garnish

Basmati Rice

Preparation

  1. Marinate Sirloin Beef Steak, cut into 2-inch chunks with the Pepperpot Mix for 90 minutes before cooking in the fridge to add flavour to the outside of the meat and to tenderise it.  Also, there is the option to marinate overnight for a more flavourful result.

  2. Heat 4 tbsp of oil over high heat in a heavy-bottom braising pot, dutch oven or stew pan until smoking, add the marinated beef chunks and cook until browned for approximately 5 minutes.

  3. Add 150ml water to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and slow cook for 3 hours.

  4. Add salt to taste.

  5. Serve with Basmati or Jasmine Rice and enjoy!
